Lessons To Live By In Peaceful Warrior

Written by dr. j. Posted in Inspiration

PeacefulWarrior Peaceful Warrior is one of those surprise films I never heard about and easily loved. The messages in it are both powerful and moving.

Nick Nolte is superbly cast as the quiet, reclusive Socrates.  Scott Mechlowicz is convincing in his role throughout the film.

If you haven’t seen it, go out and rent it, or just buy it for your collection as you’re bound to watch it again and again.

Peaceful Warrior is heart warming, well done and deep. You can find it online at Amazon.  It is available as a DVD and as a download movie (just in case you don’t want to go out; Amazon Unbox rocks).  The movie was based on the book, Way Of The Peaceful Warrior by Dan Millman and is also available at Amazon. I just ordered mine. Enjoy! Here’s a little clip from the movie.

Can Organic Farming Really Replace Agribusiness?

Written by dr. j. Posted in Health Matters

For decades, we’ve been fed the propaganda that conventional farming sedona10a practices are necessary if we are going to feed our populations.

But is that necessarily true?

Environmental journalist, Stephen Leahy, has explored this at length, talked with experts and states that this is all BUNK!

If organic farming can product THREE TIMES as much produce as conventional farming practices in developing countries, then why can’t that happen here? Maybe the better question is, "Why isn’t it happening here?"

I encourage you to visit Stephen’s site to learn more about the answers to this dilemma and why it just makes sense to go organic.

The Popcorn That Kills

microwave popcorn killsWait! Don’t do that!

Are you smelling that bag of freshly nuked microwave popcorn? You should think again…for you health’s sake.

A very serious lung disorder has now been linked with doing something as innocent as smelling the aroma of freshly microwaved popcorn.

Apparently the corn producers like ConAgra have been aware

Do you sometimes feel a little out of sorts?
A little different?

I posted a new article today on getting help for depression, coping with stress and the conflicts that goes on about being perceived as mental. I’ve recanted a story about someone who was suffering from depression and how their family handled it…or should I say, mishandled it.

The article is entitled, "Does Being Mental Mean I’m Crazy?"

I Am Legend Online

Written by dr. j. Posted in News

Better Health News I Am Legend2I’m a big fan of Will Smith.

Several of his movies are timeless. Most I anticipate highly and saw on the big screen. But his newest release…I’ll have to pass on for now.
Let me explain…

When they started leaking that his new movie would be coming out about what, 9 months ago, I KNEW that it wasn’t just a thriller…it was going to be  downright SCARY! The impression I got was that it was going to be a cross between the whole Resident Evil thing and The

"The difference between genius and stupidity is that genius has its limits."

Well said Al…and HE should know.

This Spinner Bike Is The Real Deal

Written by dr. j. Posted in Product Reviews

pro spinner bike I love to ride.
I’ve been riding since I was a kid.

So you can say that I’m kinda spoiled when it comes to real bikes. That’s one reason I’ve always hated stationary bikes.

Yes, I’ve owned a few…and forced myself to use them at the health club.
But they weren’t any fun. The fun was missing in that experience.

As were the results of a true roadwork bike.
But no more…

What Could You Learn From Britney Spears?

Written by dr. j. Posted in News

Better Heath News britney It’s true…

Her performance at the Grammy’s was atrocious. Her personal life’s a mess. Her body…well, she hasn’t been in the rare form she’s known for for quite some time.

And her hair…what can I say about that?

Britney…she’s been in the news a lot lately. Her personal debacle has been massive tabloid fodder, played on their fronts like a C rated reality show. Yet she still commands loads of attention.

What lessons can you learn from Britney’s life?

Blogging master Michael Martine has written an amusing yet poignantly insightful post on the matter.

Make sure you read it. The real fruit will come when you apply it.
